WELCOME TO THE WOLFEBORO AREA CHILDREN’S CENTER,
a not-for-profit organization, founded in 1974 to enhance the well-being of families and the community by meeting the needs of children through comprehensive, affordable child and family services.
At our spacious site in downtown Wolfeboro, we offer early care and education to children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old. Our school age program meets mornings and afternoons and throughout school vacations and the summer providing children, ages 6 years through 12 years, the opportunity to explore and develop their interests. All members of our teaching staff meet Licensed Plus requirements for education and experience. We are a licensed Preschool Special Education program with on-staff teachers and therapists. Our Prevention and Family Services Programs, under the direction of a Master’s level social worker, address the varied needs of our families in a family-friendly environment.
We recognize that all children are individuals with different needs, different experiences and personal rates of development. Our goals are to provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment which encourages individuality, exploration and self-expression. We hope to guide each child, through play, in the important work of interacting with the world and others in it.
With a sense of partnership between parents, teachers and a volunteer board of directors, the Children’s Center has successfully met the evolving needs of families and community for over thirty years.
